on this day, i wasn't feeling so excited, as you can imagine, i am not super excited these days. i mean, i am, ideally, really excited for my kid to have more access to the muscles in his legs!! totally totally into that!!!!!! but what he has to go through to get there keeps finding its way to the front of my mind. so, to get myself in the dancing mood, first we really needed some special dancing food. i could just feel that some turkey bacon was in order for an early lunch. along with pretzel sticks and avocado. yummmm it was. and then we really were ready to go. i did this as an exercise for sure, though. i made myself. just like i make myself exercise. and i made myself let us paint our faces first, which zhi was asking to do over and over. and we all put on some temp tats. on our necks. david came home and had such an issue with them being on our necks. it really was bothering him for some reason. sorry d, we thought it was a cool spot! i'm going to sneak one onto your neck when you're sleeping now!! the boys had just gone for their last day of snow boarding lessons this season. i thought of catherine who is always doing face painting at her house, and decided to follow her lead. i could have been packing and getting us all organized for this week long trip, but i made myself do something that a relaxed mama would do. i had a headache, which never really left the scene, but i know i smiled and laughed way more than i would have had i started organizing.

what were we listening to?? oh, the ummmm, sometymes why girls. mmmm, they are good.

look at her cuteness. it is too much. she is really into putting her arms up. i am too!

then, i realized it was freaking nice outside, and that i was ready to put on a dress. i haven't wanted to put on a dress in a long time. weeks. i keep noticing my masculine outfits, wondering what the hell, h?? couldn't you try to have a little fun with your clothes? have a little fun have a little fun have a little fun, but i just couldn't get myself to.... until yesterday. mmmmmmm. we turned on the outside speakers and brought the party to the trees.
okay. we're getting ready now. we went to the library and got some audio cds i thought max might enjoy listening to while he is coming out of the fog of the pain meds....maybe? maybe not. maybe i will enjoy them. and we checked out some books centered around hospital visits. now we know why olive's madeline doll has that scar on her belly. we had never read that book! suitcases are out. as are hankies for the mama who cries now almost every time someone asks her how she is. why do i go into third person like this sometimes??

is it weird that i know what shirt i was wearing the day max was born, and that i am going to wear it on his surgery day?
this is cute, while i am bustling around packing, they are doing this.
lovelovelove. we love books. okay.....bye friends. see you on the other side!

Gosh, I just read a long comment you probably wrote me a week ago and I didn't see it. It was so nice. I am thinking of you and Max and the rest of your family. I'm sure that after this discomfort everything will be so much better. Snowdrops, crocuses and witch hazel are blooming. Spring is on its way with all its fresh new beginnings. Sending you love and good wishes.
