so so good, our light

today, D and i have had a little contest going: who can be the lightest? it has been really helpful, to keep us, or me, for sure, but i can tell him too, remembering to not go down the black hole. to the place where there is NO light. games are fun. and we LOVE our games, so maybe that's why this really worked today. and now he keeps trying to get my goat.....and i hold my light the whole time. i am so cool, so unbudgeable today. hmmmmmm,

when am i going to learn to post pictures, i wonder. when will the universe align for that development?

little arten/alder, our names for babe in the belly as of right now, likes to hang out low, low, low. yep, there the angel is, slithering around. i forgot how low the womb goes, practically right to the pubic bone.

zhi has her new headband i made her yesterday on backwards, looking like an eighties exerciser. max is resisting the putting on of pj's, challenging the heck out of daddy to stay in the light. i am dreaming of the day that i won;t be so self conscious, and this blog will flow, abundantly. with inspiration galore, and fun fun fun. at the moment, i am still inspired from our little visit to eastern sun academy this morning. the good, earthy, realness of the people floors me, and challenges me to drop my guard and be even more real than i knew i could be, in the face of my shyness. thank you to them. the idea of having my kids learn from them fills me up, with hope. hope with no fear.

good mistakes

something i've been loving to think about today since i wrote it in an email to a friend this morning. and here i am, listening to my most recent good mistake...the lonesome sisters.

i don't know how to do the link thing, i'll ask D.

i was looking on itunes, for covers of blackbird (beatles), cause it was stuck in my head, and i needed to bathe in that song, i thought, and i listened to the lonesome sister's song, blackbird, which is not a cover, but their own song, and i fell in love with their voices and sound.......i have been in heaven ever since, bathing in their sorrowful, truthful, country. i can't explain it, but when someone dies, someone you loved madly, it is very very comforting to hear other people in heartache, or songs about heartache. it doesn't make me feel worse, but better actually, and it gets the tears flowing so instantly. then i'm cleansed and free, and full of love for this life, heartache and all. mawmaw, i love you so much. thanks, i will always love you and feel you. your sharp, earnest guidance, and natural easy love saved me, and still does. i wish i knew what you are up to, what king of mind-blowing experiences you are having now that you are bodyless, mindless. i'm making a quilt-like patchwork curtain for our utility room, so the cats can get to their litter box, and so the entry is still closed looking when i want it to be. i am thinking of you, my quilting teacher. when i learn to post pictures.......
