we took advantage

on our last warm 70 degree day, we washed the sheets. we baked a squash. we planted a funny pear tree that grows pears that will grow only to the size of a quarter, and be liked only by the birds and squirrels. we boiled some osha root that i picked up at the farmer's market, and drank the tea. that smell is so awesome. we were so into our day.

and now, since a big snow and freeze came here, i have been wearing this red wool shirt for many days in a row. i washed it before wearing it for the first time this year, and even on a cold water wash, turned a whole load pink. ooops. but i'm just going with the idea that we needed a little more pink in the world. that off-white table cloth. his underwear. and socks. their socks. pajamas. dish towels. pink is love. i'm trying really hard to like the pink table cloth more than i liked it before.

i have my guitar lesson tonight, and i think i'm gonna try to learn this corny country song....after i work on this one a little more. it's so funny to hear my kids doin their thing around the house, singing new slang. max has changed the lyrics in the first line to: gold teeth and a curse for this town, only i don't know how you got cavities. ha! it's really funny to hear. and david is a little tired of hearing it, and of having it stuck in his head for days now, but he's so cool about it....and even plays it with me. and sings it so much better than i do. but at least i try! i want to see that movie again. going to put it at the top of netflix now! don't change it, david.
