you can do it!

hello. when's the last time you saw this song performed? hang in there and you'll recognize it after about 39 seconds. don't you love the lead singer's glasses. made me think of my lawyer sister. how fun is that to think of and write? we should sing this song to our kids as a lulliby. makes me feel like laughing, but the kids are falling asleep so i can't really.

i just love watching the main singer when they zoom in on him. and look how the two on the left (our left) kind of bop in synch together. and they all turn back and forth a little bit in synch too. if you watch the whole video, i swear it will transport you somewhere else. i'm not sure where, but somewhere very different. i think everyone needs to bookmark this. it ends abruptly. but that's ok.

now look how cool this cover is. i love his voice. so sweet.

i think i can is a mantra i keep telling max when he tries to draw lately. i replace his 'i can't do it', with 'i think i can,' like an involuntary reflex or something. i hope it gets in there. before he just tunes me out completely. i can't help it. maybe i'll toss that up with 'you can do magic,' here and there. hahaha. ok.. love.

bwa ha ha! that is NOT what i expected when i clicked that link. thanks for the element of surprise, because now i am really listening to the words in a different way. so awesome. i have been in a place of serious magic deficit lately.

to comment on your last post too...i've been feeling the weird discombobulation in blog land too. i've been chalking it up to part summer, part seasonal rhythm, part distraction, part discouragement and part mystery. i say ride it...my hunch is your muse will return. loving you. xo

What a sexy song. We love the band America. I got one of their CD's at the library and Amelia was totally hooked. We've been watching youtube for the past 20 minutes, just going through all the fun 80's music. Thanks for the link. Yes, we have to believe we're magic. Especially our young ones. i kept meaning to get back here and comment.....that wasn't what i expected either, but i was entranced! haha....weird memories flooded back. then tonight..on a short ride in the car, we were listening to the radio and they were doing some kind of 'songs about magic' block or something, because i heard this one...
