what was i doing that whole month, or was it two, that i couldn't knit. i couldn't pick up the needles. it would have been forcing something and i couldn't do it. and now, that i am knitting again, because i want to so bad i can't not do it, i can't really understand why i couldn't do it before. it makes me cry. why couldn't i? what was i doing instead? i was feeling pain. so much pain it was all i could do to be with it and only it. and that makes me fucking sad. my daughters went a few more months without their sweaters, in their lives, they won't have them as long, because i had to sit and feel some pain. god. that sucks. this life sucks ass so hard sometimes i just feel like i could do something so crazy and bad. it's so sad sometimes.
well. i don't know what to write now. i have so many feelings..they run all over each other and make so many colors and it's so chaotic. not always though, right? but often, i can feel some hard horrible sadness, except for those random times that i laugh out loud, or that i am in that state of pure contemplation that feels so exquisite. or when my kids grab my attention in that fresh way. and it seems when those other feelings vanish, that sadness is just there. so there. my baseline friend sadness. how am i gong to explain this to my kids? i don't want them to have to know sadness like i do. i don't want that. no thank you. fuck this. that's what i say. i want to teach those kids to say FUCK THIS and get up and walk out of energy that is just too much to bear. we can take it for a while and for some reason we seem to have to, but then after that while, like when you realize you've had a parasite sucking on you and you are just discovering it, you can get up, pull that fucker off, and get away from that energy. right? yes.
we just have to do what's good for us and no preaching. david said that to me just after i wrote that all up there. he saw me look up from the computer screen weeping, and i told him what was going through me. he is cool.
2 days later.
today i be 35.
yeehaw. i am psyched.
i am really really blessed and love living. from the eagle's nest, it's all so lovely and magical and seems to almost make sense. shadows aren't scary anymore. they are so simple from up high. i must visit this nest more regularly.
love.
i love. i love. i love. i fear. i grow. i brave. i cower. i speak. i hide. i dance. i beat. i sing. i whisper. i be. crazy. simple. crazy. wild.
yah.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad lots of times. I don't want you to be sad but I completely understand. Life can be pretty heavy. Why are you sad? I really want to know.
That black and white picture of you looks so much like Max. It's kinda of weird the light really brings that out.
Love, Hugs!
Kyndale
Happy Birthday, now you are as olden as me. 35 is good. I've learnt alot more these last few years about me and my life. What a difference a few days made for you from sadness to something glad. It's cool it's written down here. x
ReplyDelete♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeletethanks loves.
ReplyDeleteteeny. i know, it's a little strange and awkward feeling how drastically shifts occur. but i do like to honor them, it seems they shift faster, the more fully i honor them, the sad ones i mean. i'm glad to have a fellow olden 35er in my midst. roar. year of dragon women.
kynee. oh my. why am i sad. it's so much. it's all of it. i seem to gravitate toward how sad this whole deal is for so many people. and how we all just go and die. i'm really processing death through my psyche right now. and i feel i am processing some pain and sadness from ancestors as well. i just realized this yesterday during a massage david got me for my birthday. this pain i feel, this deep sadness, is not all mine. that's why it may seem odd, or off, that i feel it so much. i am working through the family channel it seems. i think i am going to get some support on how to move through this more efficiently than i have been, and see what that's like. more body work, maybe a family constellations workshop, i just learned about that work. phew. i do it for my kids. they make me want to clear so much guck out of the line. aren't children amazing? do you relate to this? that's neat you see max in me. 99 percent of the time, people see david in him. i love that you see me in him/him in me. thanks love.
so, i totally love you and i'm pretty sure i had dreams about your birthday tights. hmmmm
ReplyDeletei love the way you put it in your "gotta say it" too - and i sent you an email so, check that box!
(and is it terribly selfish of me to be so secretly tickled that your back on the needles?)
i was feeling the poo, too but then i yelled at the family and made them all clean while i knit and drank coffee which is something i would never do in real life and hubs drew me as a serpent on the chalkboard with a speech bubble that said, "arrrr, CLEAN!" and it totally made me laugh. sometimes stuff just works out in strange and unexpected ways. do your thing. that constellations workshop sounds like magic. tell more!!!!
i can't wait to hear about your birthday, old lady! ;)
ReplyDeletei know that sadness too. it does feel sometimes like it is always there, but it only feels like a problem when i am resisting it or thinking it "shouldn't" be there. you are so good at releasing, that is a gift you will pass on to your children. teaching them how to be with what is, treating it like a friend, but not being in relationship with it like it's beating you up or sucking on you like a parasite. you'll teach them choice...that they can navigate their world and don't need to feel victimized by it. sometimes i think i am a conduit for the world's grief, and part of my path is learning how to feel it, and release it, for all of us, especially the beings that can't speak or weep themselves. your kids are lucky to have a feeling and spirited mom.
you know that caroline casey thing i sent you? she has that line about "better a trickster than a martyr be" and how we can let the grief and sadness flow through us as a trickster, but not to be a martyr and hold on to it in suffering.
i'm glad you have a wise partner in david. i'm glad you are knitting. i'm glad you are here for another turn around the sun. we are all luckier for it. xo
